OK, it has been a long while since I've posted something about Jordan.  Life gets busy and a lot has happened!  Jordan just recently started 9th grade - high school - where does the time go?  He's getting really tall too, almost 6 feet tall now, with a size 13 shoe, and still growing - soon he will be taller than me!  He's still playing baseball - following in his big brother's footsteps.  He's quite a pitcher, third baseman (like his mom), and can pretty much play every other position on field.  He is also pretty good at basketball and I'm encouraging him to try out for the Freshman team.  School is not really Jordan's thing, but we try to encourage him to do his best and he usually pulls out decent grades.  Not sure what he wants to be yet (if the whole professional baseball player thing doesn't work out - LOL).  Here is his 9th grade picture, he sure is handsome!

Fourth Grade already!

Life is busy and posts are getting fewer and farther in between.  Jordan started 4th grade last month!  His brother went off to college and Jordan is sad, but he seems to be enjoying the fact that he's now the focus of our attention.  He's playing running back and linebacker on the football team and doing really well.  He also payed soccer recently and loved it.  There is not enough time for all of the activities this child enjoys.  Here are some recent pictures.

3rd Grade update

Jordan continues to grow and get more adorable.  He is still playing football (running back) and recently started the 3rd grade.  He loves to play on his iPad or run around outside with his friends and his big brother. Recently, he's been having nightmares about sharks, but we keep reassuring him that there are none in the lakes and pools. He is still loves to cuddle and wants to be the center of everyone's attention.  We've given him the nick name "Drama King." Here is his school picture for 3rd grade.

Fall 2016

It is hard to believe that Jordan is already in second grade.  He is so adorable, very active, smart and sweet, but he can also be argumentative, talkative and dramatic.  He likes to write notes to me when he gets in trouble, they are so sweet and touching, but he loves to pin it on anyone but himself - LOL! Jordan had a great summer and is playing football again this fall.  He is playing tight end on offense and defensive end on defense.  He is very good, but can be overly dramatic at times.  He is either going to be an actor or a lawyer!  Anyway, here's his school picture.

December 2015 - where has this year gone so quickly?

Well, it's been a while since I posted, first grade is well underway and Jordan just finished his first season of football and is now playing basketball.  Jordan's team made it all the way to the championship game in football before falling to Grayson 45-35. Jordan did great and played both offense and defense.  With basketball, as you can see in the attached video, he's a natural on the hardwood.  Merry Christmas everyone!  I will post more from our family Christmas cruise!

Summer, School and Football

Seems like we just celebrated Jordan's birthday.  Now summer is coming to end, school has started and Jordan is playing his first season of football.  Since March, Jordan played baseball and made the all start team, lost two of his front teeth, traveled to West Palm Beach for vacation, enjoyed the 4th of July at the lake with most of his cousins, ran the bases at Turner Field after a Braves game, started 1st grade (getting the same teacher that Ty had), and ran on the field at the Georgia Dome with his Bronco teammates before his big brother's first football game.  Jordan is growing up quickly, but he still the same loving, cuddly, happy and outgoing boy he's always been.  Time moves too fast, but we sure love watching this child grow!

Happy 6th Birthday Jordan!

Six years, really? I can't wrap my mind around the idea that six years have passed since Jordan came into the world and joined our family. He is such an amazing little boy - so very smart, inquisitive, caring, sweet, loving and happy. He makes me smile every single day. He's also stubborn, headstrong and way too much like me than I want to admit to - LOL! Recently, we started talking about adoption and now he is telling everyone that he has two mommies and that "I'm not his real mommy because he didn't come from my tummy, but that's OK, because I'm still his mommy." Now, you might think this would bother me or hurt my feelings, but it doesn't. It is the logic of a child and I'm honestly happy that he understands that he has and is loved by two mommies. All adopted children are. I may have been blessed to be the mommy that sees him every day and the mommy that gets his hugs and kisses, but I'm not his only mommy. Another mommy created this beautiful child and loved him as he grew in her womb, cared for him as he was formed and then did the most selfless thing after giving birth to him and looking into his sweet eyes. She entrusted him to Jason and I to raise, to shape, to nurture, to protect, and to continue to love. On this day, and most days, I think of our birth mother and send her my love and thanks for the gift of this beautiful, beautiful boy. There are no right words to express this thought, but Jordan and his brother Ty are truly the greatest and most important everythings in my life. Those two are "who I am" and "why I am" and I am so blessed to be the one they think of as their "Mommy."

Christmas and Christmas Trip to Southern California 2014

This Christmas was another wonderful year with our boys.  Jordan is five and truly enjoys the magic of Christmas.  He announced that he was "shocked!" that Santa ate the cookies that he left for him by the fire.  He also enjoyed opening every present from the pajamas and socks to the "real" football and Wii U that he told Santa that he wanted.  He has really enjoyed having his "cousin" Khanye (our Nanny's son from South Africa) as a companion these last few months.  Those two play together every day and have a ball.  After Christmas, we took our annual post-holiday trip and went to Los Angeles.  There, we stayed at the St. Regis Monarch Beach Resort in Dana Point and then moved up to Manhattan Beach for a couple of days.  We also go to see my godson Garrett play basketball at Pepperdine.  Overall, a very fun couple of weeks!

Kindergarten School Pictures

Jordan is looking extra handsome in his kindergarten school pictures.  It blows my mind how quickly he has gone from a little baby to this big, bright and handsome boy!
